These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you (“you”, “your”, or “User”) and Workjiffy Marketplace Inc. (“Workjiffy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company operating exclusively in Canada, governing your access to and use of the Workjiffy platform.
Workjiffy is committed to protecting your privacy and personal information in accordance with Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.
By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.
1. The Platform
1.1 Online Marketplace
Workjiffy operates a Canada‑based, web‑ and app‑enabled marketplace that connects:
- Clients – individuals or businesses seeking short‑term services (“Jiffs”)
- Jiffers – independent businesses or individuals offering services
Clients and Jiffers are collectively referred to as “Users.”
Workjiffy does not provide services directly and is not a party to any agreement formed between Clients and Jiffers.
1.2 Independent Contractors
Jiffers:
- Operate as independent businesses
- Set their own prices
- Use their own tools and materials
- Are free to accept or reject work
- May offer services outside Workjiffy
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between Workjiffy and any User.
2. Workjiffy’s Role
Workjiffy provides a technology platform only. We do not:
- Supervise or control how services are performed
- Guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any Jiff
- Verify professional qualifications unless explicitly stated
Any labels such as “verified,” “reliable,” or “badged” indicate completion of platform requirements only and do not constitute certification or endorsement.
3. Privacy and Personal Information
3.1 Privacy Law Compliance
Workjiffy collects, uses, discloses, and stores personal information in accordance with:
- PIPEDA
- Applicable provincial privacy legislation
We collect only the information reasonably required to operate the Platform.
3.2 Information We Collect
Personal information may include:
- Name, business name
- Contact details
- Account credentials
- Payment‑related identifiers (processed via third‑party providers)
- Identity verification data (where permitted by law)
3.3 Use of Information
Your personal information is used to:
- Create and manage your account
- Facilitate connections between Users
- Process payments
- Communicate with you
- Improve and secure the Platform
- Meet legal and regulatory obligations
3.4 Consent
By using the Platform, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. You may withdraw consent subject to legal and contractual restrictions.
3.5 Data Storage & Transfers
- Data is stored securely
- Some service providers may process data outside Canada
- Equivalent safeguards are applied
3.6 Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Request corrections
- Ask how your data is used
- Withdraw consent where legally permitted

4. Registration and Account Security
Users must:
- Provide accurate, current information
- Update information promptly
- Maintain account confidentiality
You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use.
5. Jiffer Onboarding & Background Checks
Where legally permitted in Canada, Jiffers may be subject to:
- Identity verification
- Criminal background checks (via third‑party providers)
Workjiffy does not guarantee the accuracy of third‑party checks and is not responsible for their outcomes.
6. Service Agreements Between Users
Once a client and Jiffer has been confirmed through the Platform, the Client and Jiffer enter into a direct, legally binding agreement (“Service Agreement”).
Workjiffy:
- Is not a party to the Service Agreement
- Bears no liability for its performance or outcome
7. Payments, Fees, and Taxes
Fees, payments, cancellations, and refunds are governed by the Fees, Payments & Cancellation Policy.
Jiffers are solely responsible for:
- Income taxes
- GST/HST/PST
- Business licensing and insurance
8. Acceptable Use
Users must:
- Use the Platform lawfully
- Respect privacy and property rights
- Communicate professionally
- Keep all Jiff‑related communication on the Platform
Recording interactions without consent is prohibited.
9. Suspension and Termination
Workjiffy may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Breach of these Terms
- Fraud, abuse, or security risks
Users will be notified in accordance with Canadian law and may appeal within 14 days.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under Canadian law, Workjiffy is not liable for:
- Actions or omissions of Users
- Losses arising from Service Agreements
- Indirect or consequential damages
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province in which Workjiffy is registered and the laws of Canada.

1. Termination
Termination
You may terminate this Agreement at any time by ceasing all use of the Platform and deactivating your account.
Workjiffy may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice, if you breach this Agreement or violate applicable Canadian laws or regulations.
Any provisions of this Agreement that by their nature should survive termination (including limitations of liability, indemnification, intellectual property, and dispute resolution provisions) shall survive termination and remain enforceable.
2. User Generated Content (Canada-aligned)
User Generated Content
“User Generated Content” means any information, materials, or content you submit, upload, publish, transmit, or otherwise make available through the Platform.
User Generated Content represents the views of the User who submitted it and does not reflect the views of Workjiffy. Workjiffy does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of User Generated Content.
Workjiffy:
- does not control User Generated Content,
- is not responsible for User Generated Content,
- may, but is not required to, monitor User Generated Content, and
- reserves the right to remove or restrict User Generated Content that violates this Agreement or applicable law.
You remain solely responsible for your User Generated Content.
License to Use Content
By submitting User Generated Content, you grant Workjiffy a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and modify such content solely for the purposes of operating, promoting, and improving the Platform, in any media now known or later developed.
This license continues for as long as your content remains available on the Platform.
Moral Rights
To the extent permitted by Canadian law, you waive any moral rights you may have in your User Generated Content only as necessary to allow Workjiffy to exercise the license granted above.
3. Representations & Prohibited Content (tightened)
You represent and warrant that your User Generated Content:
- is accurate and not misleading,
- does not infringe intellectual property, privacy, or personality rights,
- complies with applicable Canadian laws,
- is not defamatory, hateful, obscene, or unlawful,
- does not falsely suggest affiliation with Workjiffy, and
- does not contain malicious code or harmful material.
4. Feedback & Reviews
Feedback
Reviews and ratings posted on the Platform reflect the opinions of Users only. Workjiffy does not verify or endorse Feedback and does not guarantee its accuracy.
Workjiffy may remove Feedback that violates this Agreement or applicable policies.
5. Intellectual Property
All Platform content, excluding User Generated Content, including trademarks, software, design, and text (“Proprietary Material”), is owned by Workjiffy and protected under Canadian intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use Proprietary Material without prior written consent.
6. Third-Party Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. Workjiffy does not control or endorse such websites and is not responsible for their content or services.
You access third-party websites at your own risk.
7. Copyright Complaints
Copyright Notice
If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright under Canadian law, please contact Workjiffy with:
- identification of the copyrighted work,
- location of the alleged infringement,
- your contact information, and
- a statement of good-faith belief.
Workjiffy will respond in accordance with applicable Canadian copyright legislation.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by Canadian law.
Workjiffy does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Some implied warranties may not be excluded under provincial consumer protection laws.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, Workjiffy shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or economic damages arising from your use of the Platform.
Nothing in this Agreement limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Workjiffy from claims arising from:
- your use of the Platform,
- your breach of this Agreement,
- your User Generated Content, or
- your violation of law or third-party rights.
11. Dispute Resolution
Dispute Resolution
The parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation before commencing legal proceedings.
Nothing prevents either party from seeking relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
The courts of Alberta shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
13. No Employment Relationship
Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment, partnership, or agency relationship between Users and Workjiffy.
14. Electronic Communications & Signatures
You consent to electronic communications and acknowledge that electronic acceptance constitutes a legally binding agreement under Canadian law.
15. Language & Severability
This Agreement is drafted in English. If any provision is unenforceable, it will be severed without affecting the remainder.
